Personal Finance Workshop In-Person

Part of "Strategies for Financial Wellness with AllianceBernstein"

Join Bernstein financial advisors for an introduction to personal finance fundamentals. During this workshop, attendees will learn how to create and keep a budget, build credit, manage and paydown debt, and save effectively. All attendees will leave with access to Bernstein’s proprietary budgeting tool for their own personal use.

About the Presenters:

 

Kimberly F. Davis- Managing Director
Kim Davis is a Managing Director at Bernstein Private Wealth Management, responsible for Bernstein’s private client practice in New England. As Managing Director, Kim leads a team that shares core principles of entrepreneurship, collaboration, and empathy. Together, they bring this mindset to advise high-net-worth families and their respective trusts, foundations, endowments, and pension plans. Also, her team provides initial structural (investment policy statements [IPS], spending policy, and governance) and ongoing (donor engagement and board education) support for not-for-profit institutions to empower organizations to achieve financial sustainability so they can focus on implementing their mission. Before becoming Managing Director in 2020, Kim joined Bernstein in 1998 as an associate, was promoted to Vice President in 2003, and was appointed Principal in 2009. She maintains her Series 7, 9, 63, 65, and 33 licenses and is a certified 2164 advisor. Kim is an angel investor for early-stage companies with a mission. She is an active member of Chief, a member of the Board of Directors of the Brennan Center for Justice, a member of the Philanthropic Board of Advisors for Boston Children’s Hospital and founding Board Member of the Council of Church Advisors.

Breana Cole - Vice President, Financial Advisor

Breana Cole is a VP/Financial Advisor for Bernstein in Boston. She specializes in working with business owners and multi-generational families. Breana recognizes that while her clients have the benefit of wealth, there is complexity that comes with that wealth. She takes great pride in advising her clients through those complexities. She began her career with Bernstein in 2012 in Denver and moved to Boston in 2013. She has had numerous experiences at Bernstein in both client service and team leadership. Prior to Bernstein, Breana worked for IPS Strategic Capital as a Trader and Operations Manager. She graduated from the University of Denver in 2009 with a BSBA in Finance and Real Estate and then again in 2010 with an Master’s of Science in Finance. She serves as the Chair of the Family Board for the Gilbane Family. Originally from Jackson Hole, Wyoming, Breana lives in Milton, MA with her husband and two kids. She loves yoga, golf and skiing.


Noah Schlesinger - Vice President, Financial Advisor

Noah W. Schlesinger is a Financial Advisor in Bernstein Private Wealth Management’s Boston office. Leveraging his expert understanding of global capital markets, pre-transaction tax considerations and estate planning techniques, Noah works with high-net-worth individuals, family offices, endowments, and foundations to prepare and maintain multi-generational financial plans, while also providing guidance around investment strategy. Prior to joining Bernstein in 2015, Noah worked in corporate finance at BNY Mellon and later as a trust officer within the Trust & Estates division of Bank of America/US Trust. Originally from the UK, Noah graduated with a BA in psychology and Spanish from Wesleyan University, where he was a member of the varsity soccer team. He is a CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™ professional. Noah is passionate about personal philanthropy and sits on the board of directors at the Vilna Shul and the Brookline Center for Community Mental Health. In his spare time, Noah is an avid runner – recently completing the Boston Marathon in under 3 hours - and an accomplished chess player, having represented England at Junior level.

Brian Beneduce, Vice President, Client Advisor

With a background in the Defined Contribution space, Brian brings years of experience working with business owners, retirement plan fiduciaries, and high-net-worth individuals. Brian received his Bachelor’s degree from Wheaton College, Massachusetts, where he served as captain of the baseball team during his senior year. Outside of work, Brian enjoys hiking mountains, skiing, boating in Cape Cod, and cheering on the Red Sox.

Drew W. Harker - Vice President, Financial Advisor

Drew W. Harker is a Vice President and Financial Advisor at Bernstein, based in Boston. In his role, Drew works closely with multi-generational families, entrepreneurs, executives, and select non-profit organizations and provides bespoke wealth planning and investment advice. Drew focuses intently on understanding and solving his clients’ most complex challenges that often extend beyond wealth management by offering a vast network of resources customized to their values and needs. In partnership with those he is fortunate to serve, Drew aspires to guide his clients to achieve a more meaningful future. Prior to his current role, Drew led a national team of Advisors and Associates focused exclusively on delivering exceptional client service and enhancing the firm’s digital wealth planning tools. Before that, Drew joined the New York management team in charge of client service support and operations. He joined the firm in 2010 and held positions as a Private Client Associate and Senior Private Client Associate before joining the management team. Drew lives in Charlestown with his wife, Clare, and daughter, Ivy. Outside of work, Drew enjoys spending time outdoors with Clare, Ivy, and friends in the Charlestown community. As a former All-American golfer at Emory, Drew also enjoys a round of golf with friends. Prior to Bernstein, Drew worked in wealth management at Morgan Stanley in Atlanta, GA. He earned a BBA from Emory University and an MBA from Columbia University.

Toinette Rivas - Director of Strategic Initiatives

Toinette Rivas is the Director of Strategic Initiatives for AllianceBernstein, partnering directly with the COO, CFO and Head of Private Wealth for AB. Before this role, Toinette worked in Bernstein Research (a division of AB) covering hedge funds and mutual funds in New York and Boston. She joined Bernstein Research in October 2013 as part of the new Boston-based institutional equity sales team. Previously Toinette was at Credit Suisse. She initially joined CS for two summers as an intern; after graduating from college in 2006 she became an equity research associate on the healthcare technology and distribution team, and in 2010 moved to the NY hedge fund sales desk. In 2012 she joined Credit Suisse’s Boston equity sales team. Toinette has a BA in Government with a minor in Business Administration from Colby College. She is active in non-profit organizations focusing on financial literacy for adults and is a member of Compass Working Capital’s Advisory Board.

Sharon I. Lewis--Financial Advisor, Principal

Sharon I. Lewis is a Senior Vice President, Principal and Financial Advisor for Bernstein in Boston. She provides asset allocation and wealth planning advice to high-net-worth families, corporate executives, endowments, and foundations. Sharon began her career at Bernstein in 1984 and spent nine years in institutional equity sales and as a pension advisor. In 1993, Sharon joined S. G. Warburg as executive director responsible for its Boston operation. Between 1996 and 2005, she served as a partner and member of the board of directors for Adams, Harkness and as an executive director at Oppenheimer & Co. Sharon rejoined Bernstein as a senior portfolio manager in 2005 and became a member of the Bernstein Private Client Investment Policy Group in 2007. She holds a BA in mathematics from Jacksonville University, where she was a President’s Scholar, and an MBA from Harvard Business School. Sharon is an active supporter of Rosie’s Place, the Make-A-Wish Foundation, the Boston Estate Planning Council, The Boston Club, the Massachusetts State Committee of the National Museum of Women in the Arts and serves on the board of the Harvard Business School Association of Boston.


Jennifer Ostberg - Wealth Strategies Director

Throughout her 13 years at Bernstein, Jennifer has been working with high-net worth individuals and families and their trusted advisors. She leads the Bernstein Philanthropy Institute and is responsible for providing investment advice and solutions to philanthropic individuals and families and next-generation wealth owners. She is also a member of the Family Engagement Services team, which helps families explore the transfer of wealth-related values and knowledge. Jennifer is a CFP® and a 21/64 certified advisor.

Scott Mutryn – Vice President, Financial Advisor


Scott Mutryn joins Bernstein after 20+ in the financial services industry and most recently at Morgan Stanley. He spent the first part of his career covering the institutional side where he worked with Wellington, Fidelity and Adage creating investment solutions and thought-provoking ideas to generate profits Throughout his time in the industry Scott’s aim has been to help others by working together with them to accomplish their financials goals in a timely , efficient manner. He enjoys working with people who are driven to succeed and chase their dreams while providing them with the tools available to achieve those goals. He understands the value of teamwork, hard work and collaboration to achieve a common goal without caring who gets the credit.
Working with successful business owners, corporate executives and athletes is something that he has focused on the last couple of years. He is inspired by their willingness to bet on themselves, and his goal is to help them achieve long term financial success to go along with their professional success. Scott works to empower and educate his clients so they are a part of the process, working to accomplish their goals and meeting people that can help them along the way.
Scott has an undergraduate degree and an MBA from Boston College where he also played Quarterback on the football team. To this day he continues to be involved with the football program as a color analyst for the radio broadcast, which he has done for the last 11 years. Mostly Scott is driven to be an inspiration and role model for his 4 children, who along with his wife Kathy live in Norwell, MA. He spends what free time he has watching his kids compete in sports, golfing and finding new Peloton workouts. He also enjoys attending concerts across many different musical genres and summers at the beach.
