A Beginner’s Guide to News Literacy in the Age of AI [VIRTUAL] Online
Note: This is an introductory course and will discuss the very basics of generative AI. It is perfect for anyone who is new to this technology or would like to learn about the topic through the lens of news literacy.
This virtual workshop will introduce generative AI, focusing specifically on its implications to news and media literacy. Using resources from the News Literacy Project, patrons will learn about the technology as well as how AI is changing and impacting the information landscape. We will also discuss the intersection of misinformation and AI and talk about ways patrons can identify and evaluate information that might be created by AI.
This workshop is offered in celebration of National News Literacy Week! This week highlights the importance of strengthening media and news literacy skills to become better informed and more civically engaged. Read more about National News Literacy Week here: https://newslit.org/news-liter...
